How does Post Trickling Work?

Post trickling refers to our post scheduling. When you create a new feed, you have the option to select one of two options:

  • Tweet Oldest Items First: By selecting this, our scheduling will select the oldest article in the RSS feed it has not tweeted yet and tweet that. Then it will work it's way up to the newest article. *This is the recommended setting for new feeds

  • Tweet Newest Items First: By selecting this, our scheduling will select the newest article in the RSS feed it has not tweeted yet and tweet that. It will always post new items (if there are any) but in the case there is no new article since the last time it performed a check, it will start to work backwards and tweet items that have not been tweeted yet working from newest to oldest.

  • Only Tweet New Items: By selecting this, our scheduling will check to see if there has been a new post since you created the feed. If there has been a new article, it will post it. If not, it will post nothing.

Do articles repost if the article changes?
If you select "Tweet Oldest Items First", there might be occurrences of a re-post if the article permalink changes. If you select "Only Tweet New Items", there might be occurrences of a re-post if the article publish date changes.
